Your whole vibe is negative. I can hear your teeth grinding now. Maybe if you chill out and send out some different energy the results will be better for you. You are bashing folk but at the same time you say you haven't tried to reach out. Who really has the problem? Good luck on the information and mentor that you seek. Not an attack on you, just hoping you will take a look at yourself for a moment.

Re: Urban insite

why is it so damn difficult for female jocks to connect with other female jocks? I mean, damn! Didn't they (meaning the Egypts, the Angie's, the Shamara's or Wendy's) admire someone in the industry one day? Wasn't there someone they looked up to? Didn't someone give them a shot? Is it common to lose your humility when you get to the top shelf? If that's the case, I like down here. But there's always room to learn more and you want to learn from someone who can flow with the same voice and issues that women flow with . It's hard to look up to these chicks man! Not that I've had any personal encounters with them or anything, but if I wanted to shoot an email or a myspace hit, I can't rely on a reply cause they won't. Look, don't lose YOU! Cause person you piss off just may be the one who comes in to take your spot!

Re: Urban insite

Armando,.

I remebember listening to 'BMX Mixes in Michigan back in the day! They each told me that they didn't have an interest on being on the radio and wanted to remain exclusive to the underground scene. I was surprised because most of us assume that everybody wants to be on the radio and as I mentioned before we had female mixers Ms. Mystery and Xaviera Gold on WBMX in the mid '80's.

There has been only one female mixer since then that I am personally aware of that made it known that she wanted to mix on-air and that is "Sundance." They flipped KISS 98.5/WDAI from Urban to Urban AC. They also changed the name of Rhythmic HOT 100 FM/WSEA to POWER 100.3 adding Rickey Smiley in the AM and changing its positioner to "Hits and Hip-Hop." I guess the Wilmington,NC Cumulus Urban had to step in and take control of Black Bikers. Did anybody see the Cumulus Urban out of Florence,SC...WYNN 106.3? How about Chucktown? Was Z-93 Jamz there?

Re: Urban insite

I heard ol' girl djing on the radio, Sundance. But, i have to correct you. We had a female mixer on WBMX back in the mid 80's in Chicago. Her name was Ms. Mystery and she was a regular guest mixer. We also had Xaviera Gold as a mixer for a while, too. Xaviera would go on to record the classic House song "You Used To Hold Me" with Ralphi Rosario, another mixer on the radio station. I was the host of the show on the radio station at that time.
